Dining & Nightlife on Virgin Gorda

British Virgin Islands

Duck into a dimly lit haven for fine dining and sink your teeth into some of the most exquisite and gourmet food that's to be had on the island. Delve into mystery and soak in an ambience like none other.

Indeed, the exceptional dining, nightlife and entertainment on the island of Virgin Gorda is hard to beat.

Once your meal-of-a-lifetime is complete, find an exotic night full of rhythm, melody and dancing till the wee hours of the morning. On the secluded paradise party island of Virgin Gorda, good times are to be had by all.

Pretty much all of the restaurants here on the island are exceptional. This is much to the credit of the attention paid to developing Virgin Gorda as a destination that is simultaneously off the beaten trail yet luxurious as well.

Since the 1960's, when Rockefeller came here and began the very low-key development/preservation with the Little Dix resort, a special bit of attention has been paid to making this island vacation destination attractive to fine diners from around the world.

Virgin Gorda's Restaurants

So why not start our tour of the best places to dine at the Little Dix Bay Pavilion itself? This exquisite place to eat is perfect for that romantic getaway. That's because it's arguably one of the top spots for honeymooners, love-struck newbies and everyone in between. Of course, because it's a bit of a splash, it's hard not to notice the higher median age of the clientele. You can just call it, middle aged-and wealthy.

The cuisine is tremendous. However, guests to this superb dining destination must be prepared to expect the unexpected. That's because every day the menu is changed to something else, so that every day romantic surprise is waiting right around the corner.

Antoher fantastic place to dine if you're on a slightly lower budget is the Rock Café (no, not the Hard Rock Café - just "Rock." Okay?) While the atmosphere, however, is slightly reminiscent of that 1950's diner - with the added luxury of a fine tequila bar upstairs if you've only got time to stop by and whet your whistle - it's a bit nicer. Besides kind of looking like a 1950's diner, the menu here is far from limited. Featuring a fresh and zesty selection of dishes from around the world, the Rock Café specializes in the much-loved Italian and Caribbean cuisine and fine selection of California wines. Located in what's known as The Valley, The Rock Café offers a night of enjoyment. Call ahead for reservations if you get a chance. Their number is (284) 495-5482.

Virgin Gorda's Nightlife

The nightlife in the Virgin Gorda can be quite amusing. And by amusing we don't mean comically pathetic. That's right, there's actually a lot to do and see, and the Caribbean tinkling of steel drums and the thud of the Congo drum can sometimes be heard infusing a Latin flare to this otherwise serene tropical island destination.

One of our favorite spots to visit is the famous Lobster Pot. This bar is a Mecca for all of the bands and groups that play on the island of Virgin Gorda. For a small cover you can come in on the weekend - or during the week for free - and check out some of the island's best talent.

Another fantastic nightlife destination can be found at the Bath & Turtle Pub. Call them up by dialing (284) 495-5239 or just show up and discover the wonder of a nightlife destination - its this prime location by the Yacht Harbor that locals and travelers alike flock to in order to enjoy some of the best dancing on the island.
